Muscle Cars is a term originating from Peter Henshaw’s book by the same name released in the late sixties. It is defined in many ways but the meaning remains to be a small or midsized car fitted with a very powerful engine and without any fancy add-ons. A defining factor is that the car needs to be a two door, not a four door. These cars in the 1960s were capable of achieving speeds of 100 miles per hour or 161 kilometers per hour. Muscle cars for sale are fast and deadly, and are typically used for drag racing or street racing.

There are quite a number of such cars existing since the evolution of muscle cars for sale came into being in the 1960s. The first such car was fitted without a sophisticated exterior, strong engineering integration or a functioning interior. But the engine was a high compression overhead valve V8. Rocket science made its first entry into the four wheeler segment of muscle cars.

The identity of the very first muscle car remains a highly controversial topic but the majority of opinions cite the 1949 Oldsmobile Rocket 88 as the origin of the muscle car. Other muscle cars that have evolved since then were the Chevrolet Chevelle SS, Dodge Charger RT, Ford Torino GT and the Plymouth Roadrunner. All of these cars were looking to grab the market share of the muscle cars for sale segment. With the advancement of technology, the engine improved considerably. In 1995, Ford launched its SVT Cobra R, which was the first of its kind to hit the 300 horsepower mark.

Purchasing such a vehicle today would cost you quite a lot of money, but with the evolution of an environmentally friendly concept of salvage cars, it has become affordable to buy muscle cars for sale for personal ownership.

Salvage yards are spread all over the world but relatively few people know enough to appreciate the advantages of such a place. It is a place where used cars are sold off at prices that are way below their original cost. This concept of “salvage cars” – i.e. cars branded with the salvage title – does not mean worn out, old models of the past. Unfortunately they are labeled as salvage, a potentially intimidating term, even though these cars are mostly recovered from their original buyers who could not pay the taxes and their car got seized. These used cars often are one or two years old and have a good life ahead of them. Moreover, the cars are mostly pollution free as hazardous wastes from the batteries, mercury switches and fluids from the brakes and engine are disposed of with great precautions in toxic waste sites.

All one needs to do to buy muscle cars for sale is to register in one of the many online auction or auction broker sites on the internet and bid for their car of choice at a price that is less than half of its original cost.
